Camp
Hours
Camp starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.at the flagpole.
Lunch is at 12:00 p.m.
We encourage all campers to have lunch at camp under the supervision
of our staff. Campers who will be going home for lunch should be
picked up from the tree at the beach at 12:00 p.m.. If it is raining,
lunch pick up will be at the rec.-hall. Feel free to call the office
to find out pick up location if the weather is inconsistent.
Camp resumes at 1:00 p.m. at the flagpole. 
Dismissal and bus departure is at 4:30 p.m.
Dismissal and end of the day announcements happen with the entire
camp gathered around the "tree" at the beach.

Morning
Arrival
Campers walking to camp must use the tunnel. Campers being dropped
off by private vehicles can use the Pine Post Road entrance into
the parking lot. Please be careful when backing up to leave.

Tunnel
Camp should only be accessed from Balfour Beach via the tunnel.
Crossing Metro Rd. is NOT permitted at any time.
|

|
End of the Day Pick up
The camp day ends under the tree at the beach. Cars may park on
Dunkleman Drive ( beside the beach). Please ensure that you do not
block the camp buses parking in the same area.

| Busing |
 |
|
Our busing is provided by a company called Student Express. Student
Express is OCA approved and has provided the Katonim Community with
excellent service for many years. Pick-up and drop-off times and
locations will be confirmed the beginning of June.
|
Lunch Routines
Campers should bring a labeled lunch bag (lunches are refrigerated).
Extra drinks and snacks are encouraged. If your child requires an extra
snack or a drink during the day, please pack it separately in your child's
knapsack. Avoid sending any foods that contain nuts or nut products. Lunches
are eaten outdoors in a shaded location.
One day every week, we have an optional pizza lunch. Details will be
sent home with the campers.
Lunch Invitations
If your child receives an invitation to eat lunch at a friend's, please
send a note to camp giving your permission. Campers will not be allowed
to leave camp property without permission. Try to plan ahead to avoid
disappointment.

Early
Pick up
Pre-arrangements must be made with a letter or phone call for early
pick up.
Absences
If you know your child will be away from camp for the day, please
inform the office. If the phone is not answered personally, please
leave detailed message.

Camp Katonim offers a traditional camp experience that boasts a wide
range of activities. Below is a sample of the types of activities
that campers will have the opportunity to participate in. (Some activities
are dependdent upon age and swimming ability.) |

In addition to regular camp activities, our camp program is enhanced

Overnights at Sutton Provincial Park (BG 3/4)
4-day canoe trips in Algonquin Park (BG 5/6)
5-day canoe trips in Algonquin Park (BG 7/8/9/CIT)
4-5 day hiking trips (BG 5/6/7/8/9/CIT)
Registration for these trips is optional.
There is an additonal charge for these overnight experiences.

to Bring to Camp
LABEL EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
The camp is not responsible for lost items
- 1 or 2 towels
- sunscreen - should be applied before camp,
and will be re-applied during the day
- wear a bathing suit and pack a dry one for after lunch
- dry shorts to change into for the trip home
- hat - to be worn at all times
- plastic bag for wet clothes
- rain gear - if there is rain in the forecast
- lunchbag , snack & drinks
- sweatshirt
- sunglasses
- watershoes are highly recommended
- campers will be involved in various sports activities;
proper footwear (ie. running shoes) will be required

Emergency
Contact
In case of emergency, parents will be contacted
first. If you know your emergency contact will be away, (for
any length of time), please make sure the camp has an alternate
name and number.

Rainy
Days
Rain does not dampen spitrits at Camp Katonim. There are ample indoor
facilities where the fun continues. It is nevertheless important to ensure
that you dress/send your child with weather-appropriate outerwear.
Health and
Safety
Please complete and return the medical forms prior to your child's first
day at camp.
Be sure to include any speicial needs your child may have. (i.e.
epi-pen, medication, allergies)
Bicycles
Campers may ride their bicycles to camp, but they must be locked up
at the bike rack by the tunnel. Bikes are not permitted on camp property.
Dogs
Dogs are NOT permitted at camp or at the beach.
Cancellations
and Refunds
- There is a $200 non-refundable processing fee per registration for
any cancellation
- Cancellations must be received in writing prior to June 1,
of the camp year to qualify for a refund
- There are no refunds after June 1 of the camp year without medical
documentation
- Refunds, if applicable, will be issued after the camp session
- Transfers from one camp week to another are subject to a $25.00 administration
fee unless written notice is received prior to June 1 of the camp year.

Tax
Receipts
Please note that final receipts will be sent out at the conclusion
of the summer. These receipts may be used for tax purposes.
Camp Katonim cannot guarantee the availability of receipts for previous
years.
