Camp Katonim is proud to call Lake Simcoe our home, and we spend many hours dedicated to caring for the local environment, including cleaning and maintaining the surrounding area – both on the water and on land. We care for local trails, and clear debris that could pose dangers to others.
Over the years, we have provided many opportunities for both campers and staff of varying needs and abilities to seamlessly integrate into our camp community. We have been honoured to welcome people with physical, social and cognitive needs into our camp family. We strongly believe that this integrative experience benefits all who attend our camp.
Each year, families experiencing unique economic hardships are also welcomed at reduced/subsidized rates so that their children can enjoy a wonderful summer experience. Central to our philosophy is that no child should miss out on such a rewarding experience. Within our means, we endeavour to always provide the most exhilarating summer experience to as many as possible.
Key to all of this is that privacy and confidentiality be maintained in order to assure the dignity of all campers, staff and families.
Camp Katonim has, for many years, partnered with a number of other third partner agencies to enrich the lives of the children we reach, including such varied groups as the Melanoma Network of Canada, York Region Health programs, and JF & CS.
